Meal Delivery

We build ordering systems for meal prep and delivery businesses: weekly menus, meal plans, subscriptions and delivery schedules, shaped around how your kitchen actually runs.

Built alongside a growing meal business

Farm to Fork Meals started as a local meal prep company in South Florida. We built their custom Laravel ordering system, where customers choose a plan, order from the weekly menu and change their meals when they like. Nine years later, we’re still working together.

When they grew into national delivery, we kept what was working. Local customers stayed on the Laravel system, and we added a Shopify store for the rest of the country, with its own delivery schedules and plan rules, then connected the two. Our post on meal delivery order workflows covers the deadlines that shape this kind of build.

What we learned along the way

  1. Menus and plans that change

Weekly menus, meal plans and swaps before the cutoff. The system has to keep up with the kitchen, not the other way around.

  2. Renewals and pauses

Every renewal tells the kitchen what to make, and a proper pause button keeps a vacation from turning into a cancellation.

  3. Growing into new areas

A second platform for new customers, connected to the first, plus custom Shopify development and tracking. It’s how Farm to Fork went national.

FAQ

Meal delivery questions, answered

It depends on your menu, plans and delivery rules. Shopify suits many businesses, and custom fits better when the rules get specific. Farm to Fork uses both, each for the customers it suits best.

Yes, if we build it in. We agree the rules first: how far ahead people can pause, what happens to renewals, and how it shows up in the kitchen’s numbers.

Often, yes. We look at what’s working before suggesting changes. Sometimes the best move is to keep it and build around it, as we did when Farm to Fork added a national store.
