A Little About Me
The Journey So Far
Twelve years and many misadventures as a pro musician later, I got my first “proper” job in IT, learned to code and was part of the team that built the first e-commerce platform in South Africa, the Digital Mall. I progressed along the typical route, from programmer to development manager to business analyst and strategic project manager.
At this point, tired of being at the sharp end of IT, I decided to use my accumulated knowledge to write about it instead. Writing has always come naturally to me. I was that kid at school who had to read their essays to the class. (I can thank playing rugby for saving me from the inevitable “teacher’s pet” teasing!)
SEO had always piqued my interest and by then I’d done many years of research and training in all its aspects, so SEO writing was the ideal fit. Since then I’ve written for a variety of blue chip multinationals across the world, honing my skills in some of the most competitive industries over two decades.

Projects I'm Proud Of
From innovative websites to scalable digital solutions, these projects reflect my passion for turning ideas into impactful experiences.
Writing for Third Eye-Tech is a great excuse to combine two things I enjoy: creating content and learning about technology. I’ve always been fascinated by the IT world, so the pieces I have written give me the chance to deepen my knowledge while turning technical topics into content that’s engaging and easy to understand. Stay tuned to see what I wrote.
FAQ’s
Quick Questions
I’m often glued to documentaries – anything from live concerts to how a rocket engine works to my favourite topic, military history. I go for daily walks, see family and friends, study the classical Stoics, and exercise. Which looks a bit mundane, having written it, but of course my guitars and keyboard are always close at hand. And if a Springbok or Red Sox game is on, there’s no dragging me away from it!
Before the arrival of streaming services, a few friends and I built a website that became the most popular in the world to legally download African music – the Digital Cupboard. We managed to showcase the best of South African music to a global audience, even getting artists’ songs onto the radio in several countries abroad. It’s something my musician’s heart will always cherish.
Another of the “many lives” I’ve lived through was spending 2 years as a combat medic.
